During the week of February first through the fifth, 25 students participated in the virtual Regional Spelling Bee. Congratulations to these students who won at their local level spelling bee. This year was a little different, since an in person event could not be held. SWWC used an online testing platform created by the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The top four place winners have advanced to the Multi-Region State Spelling Bee, which will be held on February 16.
Red Rock Central's winner, 5th grader Kyleigh Groebner, did not make the top cut, but performed well in the unfamiliar online Spelling Bee format. We are very proud of her performance and are looking forward to next year's Spelling Bee.
The students did an amazing job with the challenging words that were provided on the online spelling test platform. The winner from the Multi-Region State Bee will then go on to the National Spelling Bee which will be held June 1-3, 2021.
