Two more Community Listening Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 12th - 3:30 at the Storden Community Center and 6:30 at the Farmers Golf & Health Club in Sanborn. The meetings are conducted by the District and its facilities planning consultant, Kraus-Anderson, to help determine the best long-term facility solution supported by the communities and stakeholders in our school district. Listening meetings were held in Jeffers and Lamberton on April 27.
All of Red Rock Central's community members are welcome. We want your input on what you did or didn't like; and why you voted yes or no on the last plan.
Within the past year, Red Rock Central Schools went out twice to voters for bonding authority to build a new PK-12 school to address ongoing and long-term school facility needs. Both times voters showed majority support for the District's plan; however, we were challenged with needing a 60% majority vote because the MN Department of Education did not find favor in our plan.
Our needs have not gone away; therefore, we are determined to develop a new facility plan that is not only favorable with the MN Department of Education but also provides a long-term solution for our students, our teaching & learning programs, and our communities. To lead us in this process, the District has engaged Kraus-Anderson as our facility consultant.
Please attend one of these Community Listening Meetings in person on Wednesday, May 12 to learn more and provide valuable input to the District.
