Dear Red Rock Central Families,
We are reaching out to ask for your partnership in helping ensure that our school grounds remain safe, welcoming, and available for everyone in our community to enjoy.
Since the start of summer, we have received multiple reports of inappropriate and unsafe use of school equipment. Specifically, individuals have been observed climbing up basketball hoops and through the rims, hanging on the hoops, removing nets, and climbing onto the roof structures of the playground equipment.
These behaviors present serious safety concerns and create a significant risk of injury. In addition, misuse of school property can result in damage that is costly and difficult to repair or replace. Our playground and basketball courts are valuable community resources, and we want them to remain available for students and families throughout the summer and beyond.
We respectfully ask that parents and guardians take a few moments to speak with their children about the importance of using school equipment properly, following posted guidelines, and treating school property with care and respect. By working together, we can help prevent injuries and preserve these facilities for everyone to enjoy.
Please be aware that the district has security cameras monitoring these areas. While our goal is to keep the playground and basketball courts open and accessible outside of school hours, continued misuse or vandalism may require us to limit or close access when school is not in session.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all children and community members. Thank you for reinforcing these expectations at home and for partnering with us to care for the facilities that benefit our entire district.
Sincerely,
Red Rock Central School District Leadership Team
Dr. Tim Godfrey, Superintendent
Mr. Colby Pack, Dean of Students
